Saturday is a day to discover Scottish bell towers, near or far. Or you can take part in a ringing-themed service for the BBC. Close the day with a pub quiz in Edinburgh.
Sunday Worship
The BBC will be recording Sunday Worship at St Andrew and St George at 5.30 pm. This is a rearrangement from the original plan. The recording will sound better with a good congregation, so we encourage anyone in Edinburgh for the day to come and support this. Please be in your seats by 5.25pm at the latest.
The service will be broadcast on Sunday 11 June.
Ringing Tours
Towers in Scotland will be open on Saturday in geographical groups which will allow you to visit a number of locations in our self-guided tours. Timings have been arranged so that there is reasonable chance of using public transport to visit these towers. For detailed timetables, see the following transport websites:
For more specific information on local bus and other transport services, see individual tower pages.
The tours are:
- Glasgow and Central Towers
- Western Highlands (including Inveraray and Tulloch)
- Central Highlands
- St Andrews and Dundee

- Edinburgh (walking tour)
Mobile mini-rings are available all day in the grounds at St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh.
For details of the ringing tours, including booking information, please see our Saturday tours page.
