This rewarding ring of 8 is located in the middle of a modern shopping precinct in the centre of Dundee. The ringers practice here and at the neighbouring tower at St Paul's.
Getting there
The tower is centrally located a short distance from Dundee train station, which has connections to Edinburgh, Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Nearest car park is at the bottom of Union Street.
Facilities
There are no toilets in the Old Steeple but there are in the adjoining Steeple Church and in the Overgate Shopping Centre, beside the tower.
Accessibility
There is a ramp for access into the ground floor of the Old Steeple, but the ringing chamber is up a staircase.
Food and Drink
Central Dundee has many cafes, restaurants and pubs, with a food court in the shopping mall next to the church.
Interesting Facts
The Old Steeple is part of a large site known as the City Churches. Although it adjoins the Steeple Church, the tower is owned by Dundee City Council and cared for by Leisure and Culture Dundee on the Council's behalf. The Old Steeple is the only standing feature from the late 15th Century complex.
